  • Boneite Nut
    • “Boneite,” a synthetic bone nut, that is more consistent than natural bone, on all Reverend instruments. It reduces friction, allowing the strings to slide through the nut slots smoothly, improving tuning stability.
  • Dual-Action Truss Rod
    • The dual action rod adjusts in both directions, allowing back bow or forward bow. This assures correct adjustment range is possible regardless of string tension, extreme climate conditions, or the effects of long term aging. It’s also located at the headstock for easy access.
  • Angled Neck Heel

  • Chambered Korina Body
    • Korina (aka White Limba) is a medium lightweight wood, highly prized for consistency and tonal qualities. It is a key factor to producing our lively, responsive instruments that are rich in harmonics. On the BC-1 there are strategic chambers under the pickguard to add even more resonance and reduce weight.
  • Triple-Tree String Tree
    • This patent-pending string tree has an extended bar to hold down three strings at a time with just one tree, eliminating G string buzz in the nut slot.
  • Six-Bolt Neck Plate
    • Two extra bolts increase mounting pressure of the neck by
  • Custom Jack Plate
    • Proprietary jack plate features four mounting screws, instead of two. The extra screws prevent the plate from tearing out of the body. Made of steel for durability, the laser etched logo adds an extra touch of class!
  • Treble Bleed Circuit
    • All Reverend guitars have a treble bleed circuit, preserving the treble when you roll back the volume control. When you roll back a standard volume control, the tone loses treble and becomes dull sounding. Now you can turn down and still sound great!
  • 10% Pots
    • Alpha control pots with a +-10% rating. While a typical pot is +-20%, Reverend’s pots are built to tighter specifications.

Reverend BC1 Billy Corgan + New MONO Vertigo Gig Bag

This is a mint, as new Reverend BC-1 Billy Corgan Signature Electric Guitar in Satin Silver Burst. I am including a new MONO Vertigo Electric Hybrid Gig Bag (worth $269). Please keep this in mind when looking at the prices of other Reverend BC-1’s in the market place.

Far from being a Smashing Pumpkins nostalgia axe, this is a thoroughly modern, forward looking guitar with a huge number of innovative features that can greatly expand your tonal palette.

At first glance, the Reverend Billy Corgan Signature looks like a standard dual-humbucker guitar with a bolt-on maple neck and a 25 1/2-inch scale. However, several features combine to deliver a very distinctive tonal profile that truly sounds unlike any other solid body electric I’ve played. The body, which has the same signature offset, asymmetrical double-cutaway shape as the earliest Reverend models, is made out of Korina and is chambered in carefully chosen sections to enhance resonance, dynamics, and sustain while also reducing overall weight.

While Corgan’s Railhammer signature pickups look like standard humbuckers, closer examination reveals an exposed bar pole piece for the lower three strings and three round pole pieces for the upper three strings. The pickups deliver a distinctive, vocal-like midrange personality, without sacrificing bass and treble frequencies.

Another great sound feature is the Bass Contour control which allows you to dramatically shape your tone – offering everything from enhanced bass that makes the tone even fatter and bigger to rolled-off low end that makes the mids and treble more sparkling and clear. As a result, the guitar sounds great when played clean or with generous layers of distortion. But, best of all, every note rings out loud and clear.

There is so much more to say about this amazing guitar that I have included a lot more detail in the Specifications section.
