Ernie Ball Music Man StingRay Special 4H (2018 Specs)

This is an “as new” E.B. Music Man StingRay Special 4H made in 2018 with the very uncommon “Charcoal Sparkle” finish. The 2018 StingRay redesign was substantial, resulting in some excellent improvements.

The Ash body has been redesigned with lighter-weight tuning machines and hardware which contributes to around a pound of weight loss. The bass features a premium Roasted Maple neck with an Ebony fingerboard that plays like a dream – offering a terrific balance of comfort and speed.  Stainless steel frets promise long-term durability, even under the fingers of aggressive players. Unfinished, the back of the StingRay Special 4H’s neck lets your hand glide along effortlessly. And, with its 5-bolt attachment, the neck delivers stability that easily surpasses most set necks.

From the very first time you plug in this StingRay you’ll notice both the phenomenal low-end punch and the extended sonic range the redesigned soapbar-style humbucker delivers. The updated 18-volt active preamp offers impressive headroom for a wider dynamic range. When you add in the 3-band EQ you can really sculpt your sound. A sound loved by 70’s hard rockers and funk masters, to Shoegazer era rockers, to modern players like as Guy Pratt, Cliff Williams, and Flea.

With the StingRay Special you really get it all: a classic sound with a bunch of modern enhancements that broadens its sonic palette, lightens its weight, and makes it a lot easier to play.
