Alvarez Yairi DY84C (Spruce & Indian Rosewood) With Hardshell Case (Martin D-28 killer)

This uncommon Alvarez Yairi DY84C Dreadnought is one of the up-scale models from Alvarez Yairi Standard Steelstring series, and is in excellent shape. The guitar was hand crafted in the shop of famous Japanese luthier, Kazuo Yairi, around 2008 I believe.

It is a dreadnought-shaped guitar with single cutaway construction.  It features a AA solid Sitka Spruce top, laminated Indian Rosewood back and sides, an ebony fret board and an ebonized bridge. Yairi laminates are a very high quality two-layer parallel grain laminate that produces tone on a par with solid wood, but with added strength. It’s not like the laminate you would find on cheap modern guitars.

The top features ivoroid binding with a gloss finish and a double-circle rosette. The Alvarez System 600T MK II advanced preamp/EQ opens up a lot of other sound possibilities.

I purchased this DYB4C from an older musician a few years ago who only played it in his house. Being almost 15 years old, though, the guitar has its share of typical playing marks and light scratches on the top, around the sound hole, as well as the back and sides – all of which you should see in the pictures.

Overall, this is a very nice vintage Yairi that punches way above her class. She sounds amazing and is very easy to play.

I’m also including a hardshell case.
